No Bake Energy Bites- Made with Dark Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Pretzel this easy ingredient treat is a healthy option for kids and parents alike!
Hey there sports moms! This is Megan from Life in Left Field. I am a sports mom with kids involved in both travel and local sports. We are constantly on the go running from practices, games and multi-day tournaments. Finding the time to eat or even snack can sometimes be a challenge for us and I’m always looking for healthy snack ideas. Sound familiar? Well, have I got the healthy and addictive recipe for energy bites that I’d love to share with you that is easy to make – and no baking required!
These energy bites are super easy to make, travel well and great for quick energy. It’s a perfect combination of sweet and salty tossed in with some healthy goodness. These will help your athlete stay energized and focus on the field instead of the concession stand.
I’m a lover of convenient and healthy. I won’t say that we never indulge or fall off the food wagon but I try the best I can. My kids love granola bars…chocolate…peanut butter…and pretzels – really anything sweet or salty. These energy bites fit the bill with the combination of all that tastiness in one bite. They remind me of a chewy granola bar but in bite size form. I sneak a little goodness into them with the flaxseed, oats and healthy fat. Perfect for a quick boost of energy when the kids need it.
I’m not going to lie. I kinda made these for me too. They are that good. I like to grab a few bites for breakfast or as a quick snack. I love that there are only a few ingredients and I usually have them all on hand.
Running low on time? I know, silly question! This snack can be made quickly before you head out the door for the day. Add a second pair of hands and you’ll be done in no time. Ingredients can be substituted if you don’t have them on hand. Try dried fruit, chia seeds or even Nutella. One piece of advice I would offer is that you make them small enough that they can just pop in your mouth.
These won’t last long and may not even make it to the game. Prepare to make a double batch!!! Hope you enjoy.
See you at the fields!

- With clean hands, shape into bite sized balls.
If you are having some trouble getting them to form, squeeze them a bit as you shape them.If you are having some trouble getting them to form, squeeze them a bit as you shape them.
I wouldn’t make them too big. My son loved the fact he could just pop them in his mouth – especially before I was done with this batch.
It makes about 20-22 … or less if you sample a few. Store in the refrigerator or cooler if you are on the road so they last a little longer.
