Hazelnut Oats Chocolate Chunk Bars
So you know when your kids get home from school and they attack the kitchen like they haven’t eaten in a month? Is it just me? Why are they so hungry after school? I could multiply their lunches by 10 and they would still come home famished. There is something about that late afternoon hour.  The thing is, logistically it’s impossible for most moms to come up with something healthy and quick, and that will satisfy them enough to get through the few hours of practice ahead. I want them to eat well, not just fill their bellies, and I certainly don’t want to ruin their dinners. With so many fast yet unhealthy choices around, I am opting for something homemade. These very easy to make Hazelnut Oats Chocolate Chunk Bars are not just good for them, but they are seriously DELICIOUS! Made with organic hazelnut spread, good-for-you oats, and bananas, these grab and go bars will keep their energy levels up throughout after school activities, or anytime.

I’m not one of those moms that only shops at natural food stores. I am a busy mama, so if I need to head to the big retailer to grab last-minute items for dinner or whatnot, that is where I will be. But still, I recognize the importance of eating organic whenever possible. That is why for this recipe, I knew that not any ol’ hazelnut spread was going to do. Nocciolata Dairy Free Organic Hazelnut and Cocoa Spread is completely free of GMO’s, preservatives, colors, additives, or artificial sweeteners, it also contains far less sugar than other brands and is free from hydrogenated fats, but retains every bit of sweet hazelnut and cocoa flavor. For realz, it’s crazy delish, and what’s better is that I can feel good about what I am feeding my kiddos.

When making this recipe, I highly suggest trying to use as many organic products as possible. Especially if you’re raising active kids or athletes, they need the nutrition!
