Easy No Bake Snacks for Kids

Every day, my son jumps in the car after school, gives me what some may say resembles a half hug, and recites the exact same words, “I’m starving!”. He’s also tired, sweaty, and smelly. By no means is he looking forward to rushing through homework, only to have to then hustle off to baseball or football practice. Nor am I looking forward to getting him to and from everywhere he needs to be, not to mention get him and the rest of the family fed, help with homework, and clean up the house sometime in between.

As as soon as he gets through the door, he makes a mad dash to the fridge for a snack. It’s a daily ritual in my household, and I will venture to say most homes, especially when there are sports involved.

Thankfully, my husband, the creative cook and baker that he is, likes to experiment in the kitchen. Today, he came up with a delicious batch of Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Bites. Even better, there is no baking required. He just put them together and stored them in the fridge for a yummy pre-practice snack. He’s good like that, and I love him for it!

Easy no bake snack - after school treats

I watched as he decided to take practically everything out of the pantry in hopes to come up with a wholesome post school snack for our boys. I was intrigued. I peered from the corner of my eye, but in the end I just let him do his thing. I will admit he is better at spur of the moment recipes than I am. Most of the time, I just walk into the other room, and get ready to enjoy the fruits of his labor. He never disappoints. It’s an amazing deal, if you ask me.

Check Your Pantry, You Likely Already Have the Ingredients

This time was no different, these No Bake Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Bites are the bomb-diggady. I was super impressed that he turned a bunch of every day ingredients that we already had into tasty treats in just a few minutes. Seriously, so easy! The kids could’ve totally pitched in, or even made them all on their own.

I try to keep healthy snacks in the house. Fruit, nut butters, string cheese, etc. All great options for on the go eats, but sometimes it’s nice to come home to a special treat, and it’s even better if it’s a healthy one at that.

No Bake Snacks Are Great For Teams and Lunches Too

As a sports mom you’ll agree that keeping wholesome snacks handy is so important. These bites will not only be great for before sports, but they also pack up nicely. Pass them out as team snacks (make sure there are no allergies, of course), or pack them in lunchboxes.

They are vegan, gluten free, egg free, and dairy free. These babies are high protein, and healthy carbohydrate snacks. A fantastic source of energy, and perfect for growing kids that need to fuel up before strenuous exercise, or just want a quick goodie to munch on.

My son had his peanut butter bites with a tall glass of milk, and of course I had to throw in his daily vitamin regimen just cause 🙂

At around 200 calories each, one bite is all he needed to curb the appetite, and get him fueled and ready to take on the rest of the day.
